Eligibility

1. Applicants have to fulfil the following criteria to be eligible for the Scholarship:

 

  • the Scholarship is only open to Singaporeans and Singapore permanent residents;  
     

  • prior to the application to St Edmund’s College, the applicant must have:

    • completed the IB Programme either at St. Joseph’s Institution or St. Joseph’s Institution International School in Singapore, with at least 2 years of schooling at either of the schools; 
      OR 

    • completed their GCE ‘O’ levels qualifications at St. Joseph’s Institution, with 4 years of schooling there; 
       

  • the applicant must apply to the University of Cambridge before the published Scholarship application deadline, typically by 1am SGT on the 16th day of October of the year preceding the intended year of matriculation; 
     

  • on the UCAS application form, the applicant must have:   

    • selected St Edmund’s College as their preference College; 

    • indicated a preference for interview in Singapore; 
      AND 

    • indicated that they have applied for scholarship funding; 
       

  • an applicant who has received an offer from another college in Cambridge will not be eligible for the Scholarship;  

  • unless otherwise agreed to by the Selection Committee, an applicant who has already accepted a scholarship of comparable or greater value from any other organization will not be eligible for the Scholarship;  

  • an applicant who has applied for a second undergraduate programme or is already pursuing an undergraduate programme at St Edmund’s College will not be eligible for the Scholarship; and 

  • the applicant must be in a satisfactory state of health.  
     

2. The Scholarship is tenable for the following Triposes offered at St Edmund’s College for academic term beginning in October 2022: 

  • Law; 

  • Engineering; 

  • English; 

  • Land Economy; 

  • Computer Science; or 

  • Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion. 
     

For avoidance of doubt, Computer Science can be taken as a three-year or four-year course. Engineering is a four-year course. For four-year courses, funding of S$54,000 will be divided over the four-years instead. 
 

3. Scholarship holders who change subject to one not listed in paragraph 2 above will cease to be eligible for the Scholarship.
